FEFLOW piHMC: Get started with hydro-mechanical processes

Explore how dewatering can affect aquifer hydraulic properties

Our most recent release of FEFLOW established a new milestone in groundwater modelling. A decrease of pore pressure, typically found in projects related to dewatering of mines, tunnels, or any civil engineering construction, induces an increase of effective stresses. Therefore, there is a potential risk of consolidation and alteration of hydraulic properties such as storability, porosity, and permeability. In this webinar, we explore the basis of these concepts and apply hydro-mechanical calculations in the context of an open pit dewatering (~30 min).
