Urban Catchments and Receiving Environments – Contaminants and Control

Understand the current state of urban receiving environment and the impact of urbanisation on the receiving waters

The characterization and modelling of stormwater pollutant loads is critical to help determine how to reduce the pollutant concentration or volume of runoff, thereby reducing the pollutant load entering the receiving environment. Four approaches to quantify contaminant generation from urban catchments are discussed – Unit loading rate, Event mean concentration, Export coefficient model, and Build-up and wash-off approach (~25 min).
